El gobierno del Martín Vizcarra llegó a su fin. Con más de 89 votos a favor, el Pleno del Congreso decidió vacar al presidente de la República por presuntos actos de corrupción que habría cometido cuando era gobernador regional de Moquegua en dos obras de gran envergadura.
A pesar que el presidente Vizcarra Cornejo brindó su defensa a primeras horas del día, la mayoría de parlamentarios optó por sacarlo de Palacio de Gobierno.
La bancada del Partido Morado fue una de las que rechazó la medida, 19 votos en total, pero las demás agrupaciones sumaron 105 votos a favor. Solo hubo 4 abstenciones.

De esta manera, el ahora exmandatario moqueguano tendrá que salir del poder. Cabe precisar que a Vizcarra lo acusaron de recibir una posible coima de más de 2.3 millones de soles. Además, en la víspera, se difundió conversaciones de WhatsApp que lo implicaría a personajes vinculados a la corrupción.
Mañana, martes 10 de noviembre, por la tarde, el titular del Congreso, Manuel Merino de Lama, estaría asumiendo la presidencia del Perú.
